Missie was born and raised in Iowa City, IA--both attending and graduating from Regina High School. She wears multiple hats professionally--from High School Teacher, to Operating Manager at Pleasant Valley Golf Course, to Edge Realty Group Agent.
When describing Missie, two words come to mind: Competitive and Active. Missie has played sports her entire life--most recently in College where she had a successful college softball career. After college, Missie moved to Des Moines for 8 years, where she taught High School Health at Hoover High School and coached softball and girls golf. Missie was successful in Des Moines, leading her softball team to a 4A State Championship and being awarded the 2018 Iowa Coach of the Year.
Missie moved back to Iowa City in 2021 to help run her family owned business, Pleasant Valley Golf Course. She, along with her parents, husband and brother-in-law are beginning a development business of Pleasant Valley Development, and plan to continue developing homes surrounding the Golf Course.
Missie has been happily married for 5 years now to her husband and other half of Management at Pleasant Valley Golf Course, Dylan Helm. Together, they have 3 young kids--Blakely (4), Kerrigan (2), and Cooper (5 months). They plan to continue the tradition with their kids of sending them to Regina and raising their family in the Iowa City area.
